Blepharoplasty in Baltimore, MD
The eyes are the first part of the face, and at times even the most obvious, where signs of aging appear. Whether you’re struggling with an aged appearance or even experiencing visual impairment from drooping eyelids, a blepharoplasty can help. Art of Balance Wellness Spa offers this eyelid surgery procedure to the residents of Columbia, Baltimore and Ellicott City, Maryland.
What is Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a cosmetic technique that rejuvenates the eyes by removing excess skin and fat from the eyelids. The eyes are one of the first areas to develop signs of aging, which include bags under the eyes and sagging upper eyelids. In addition to creating an aged appearance, often confused for a tired or angry expression, these changes may even interfere with your field of vision. If you are experiencing any of these difficulties, a blepharoplasty can be an effective solution for restoring youthfulness to the eyes.
How Much Does a Blepharoplasty Cost?
Like many cosmetic surgeries, the cost of a blepharoplasty can vary significantly depending on the treatment goals and needs of the patient. To determine the cost of your blepharoplasty treatment, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Banks’ team. During your consultation, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that includes the exact cost of your treatment. In an effort to make this and other treatments as affordable as possible, we offer flexible financing options.
What is the Blepharoplasty Treatment Like?
The blepharoplasty procedure can be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on your treatment plan. Treatments that require general anesthesia will be performed at our local surgery center. To perform the surgery, incisions are made within the natural creases of the eyelids, where any scarring will be virtually invisible. Through these incisions, we will remove excess skin and fat to produce the desired results.
What Can I Expect After the Blepharoplasty Treatment?
After a blepharoplasty, you will need to take at least one to two weeks off of work and other activities. During this time, you can expect swelling and bruising around the eyes, and may also experience blurred vision, dryness or teary eyes. These symptoms are most severe within the first week, but we will provide you with a prescription for pain medication and clear guidelines to make your recovery as comfortable as possible. Patients can expect to be fully healed about 6 to 8 weeks after their surgery.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from My Blepharoplasty?
The results from a blepharoplasty will be visible immediately, and will become more noticeable as the body heals and any side effects fade. Blepharoplasty results are long-lasting, but they cannot be considered permanent because they do not prevent changes from occurring in the future due to the natural aging process. You can expect your results to last for many years, but you will also continue to experience gradual changes in the appearance of the eyelids over time.
Is a Blepharoplasty Right for Me?
If you are looking for a way to rejuvenate the eyes and achieve a more youthful appearance, you may be a good candidate for a blepharoplasty. However, the best way to determine your candidacy for this treatment is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Banks’ team at Art of Balance Wellness Spa. During your consultation, we’ll review your treatment goals and determine whether eyelid surgery is the best option for you.
