Dermal Fillers and Injectables in Baltimore, MDWhen it comes to undergoing a cosmetic procedure, we want to make sure the results we get are going to last. Dermal fillers and other injectables have a reputation for providing long-lasting temporary results that are fairly low-maintenance and cost-effective. We want to be transparent about how often you should expect to come in for your dermal filler and injectable treatments to maintain your naturally youthful-looking results.

Juvederm®

Juvederm® is one of the most popular dermal fillers on the market. Made mainly of hyaluronic acid, this dermal filler is perfect for filling in general fine lines and wrinkles around the mid and lower face. A typical Juvederm® treatment with Juvederm® Ultra XC generally lasts between nine and 12 months at a time. We recommend coming in for regular treatments about every nine months to maintain your results.

Restylane®

Restylane® is another one of the most popular dermal fillers out there. This contender is also made mainly of hyaluronic acid and can be used in a very similar way to Juvederm®. Because Restylane® has a different consistency than Juvederm®, patients generally see the results of their Restylane® treatments lasting between 12 and 18 months at a time. That being said, we recommend coming in for regular maintenance visits every 12 months with this filler.

Restylane® Silk

Restylane® Silk is a specially formulated dermal filler in the Restylane® family that is designed to add fullness to the lips and reduce the appearance of lipstick lines. Because this type of Restylane® has a thinner formula, it generally only lasts for up to six months at a time. We recommend coming in every four to six months to help you maintain your results.

Belotero®

Belotero® is the last of our hyaluronic-acid based dermal fillers. This product has a lower density than its other dermal filler counterparts, making it a great treatment for very fine lines, lip augmentation and cheekbone enhancement. Because Belotero® has a thinner consistency, it typically lasts for about six to 12 months at a time. We recommend coming in for treatments twice a year to maintain your results.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® differs from other popular dermal fillers because its active ingredient is not hyaluronic acid, rather it’s calcium hydroxyapatite. This compound is biocompatible and helps boost the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. Radiesse® treatments typically last for 12 to 18 months at a time, as its active ingredient keeps working after it’s introduced into the body. We recommend coming in for regular annual treatments to best maintain your results.

Botox®

While Botox® isn’t a dermal filler, we figured this question would be on your mind. Botox® is actually classified as an injectable, as it works to temporarily freeze muscles in the treated areas instead of fill in areas with lost volume. Botox® works best in areas with wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movements, like wrinkles across the forehead and frown lines between the brows. Botox® treatments typically last between four and six months at a time, so we recommend coming in for treatments every four months to help you maintain ultimate results.
